About Michael Nolan

A life-long martial artist with a focus on the Chinese arts, I have more than 24 years of military service in the U.S. Marine Corps, Marine Corps Reserves, and the Army National Guard as well as six operational deployments and over two decades of civilian experience in both the defense and intelligence communities. The views expressed herein are mine alone and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of the Department of Defense or the U.S. government.

Projects

Available in English, Japanese, and Chinese, the concise treatise is written in a style reminiscent of Musashi’s Book of Five Rings and outlines the natural laws that govern how violence works based upon experience and observations in the field in order to:

· Support the reader to achieve his or her highest potential and, more importantly, be better equipped to succeed and make a positive impact in the world.

· Offer tools to better assess plans and the planning assumptions behind them.

· Provide insight into the mechanics behind hyper-competitive, winner-take-all, situations.
